The Happiness Tag

If you’re happy and you know it .. read the blog! Ha haaa … ‘The Happiness Tag’ has been doing rounds on blogs, and am thrilled to have been nominated by Frankie Fancies to continue the tag … thank you Frankie! 🙂

In case you haven’t heard about the tag yet, the rules are simple:

1. Name 5 things that make you happy
2. Name 5 songs that make you happy
3. Nominate 5 bloggers to continue the tag

Here is my version of it ….

Writing: Finding out the exam was going to be an essay question and not MCQs always had me beaming with joy! There is something very re-assuring about writing down your thoughts … or should I say typing them out on a keyboard! Easier to reflect on later as well. I’ll try my best to keep my words to a minimum today though as I have this tendency to get easily carried away … oops!

The Cat Family (Wild & Mild): The mild version are my two adorable Persian cats, Buddy & Pixie. A bit selfish of me to call them mine, as my mum looks after them and all I do is just cuddle! The dream to cuddle their wilder distant cousins i.e. cheetahs, lions, leopards etc remains a dream…until I master the art of running in heels first!:).You’re probably thinking safari in heels? Even the cheetah found it hilarious …

Baking: First things first, lets not mix cooking with baking. Cooking always has me on the verge of tears whereas baking has me on a high (all that sugar probably has a lot to do with it!). How can dealing with all that melted chocolate while baking not make one happy? In fact just to show you how serious I am about baking, here is a great tip for you …. you’re welcome!:D

Tea: The best way to give me bad news is to serve it with a cup of tea! Mind you, I am talking about proper homemade tea with milk and sugar here … any other kind does not have the same happy effect .. especially the ones served on planes! If only the amount of water that goes into tea could count as the daily water intake, life would be so much easier!

Positive vibes: Amazing things happen when you distance yourself from negativity. I am quite an optimist and my friends know they can always count on me to help them look at the brighter side. Worrying won’t help, but smiling your way through a tough situation makes it a bit easier … so surround yourself with positive people because everything’s gonna be all right!

Karma Chameleon by Culture Club: This one makes me extremely nostalgic. I was just a small kid when I first heard this song. We were chilling in the lounge, and as soon as this song came on, my sister got up and started doing hideous dance steps to it. The rest of us joined in too, and it soon became our hilarious sister dance song! Will wait for all of us to be together under the same roof again to repeat this (and see whose bones creak the loudest now .. haha!) … happy memories indeed!

Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd: My husband is a die-hard fan of Pink Floyd and we were fortunate enough to attend their concert in London in 2013. Sharing that moment with him and singing our hearts out to ‘Comfortably Numb’ (the only song whose chorus I knew) was definitely a happy moment!

Moves like Jagger by Maroon 5: This one was my car song for the longest time! No matter what the mood, it always cheers me up … hell, it even made me feel like I was driving a Ferrari for a while … reality hurt bad when the song was over! sniff sniff … nothing that a replay button can’t fix 😀 …

You’re beautiful by James Blunt: Almost everyone knows the lyrics to this song and so it ends up being a great sing along track with friends! Prefer singing this one than watching the video though …

Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran: This one always makes me go awwww …. such a beautiful song! I’m sure a lot of people have got happy memories associated with this one too!

Time for me to stop rambling and nominate 5 bloggers to continue spreading the happiness …

And my nominees are:
The Shameful Sheep
The Crazy Chic Rashmi
The Style Studies
Classic Contemporary Living
No Space for Milk

Hope you have enjoyed reading this post and I managed to put a smile on your face! Look forward to reading all the other answers as well …. stay happy! 🙂
