You’ve got mail …

Remember when my birthday was coming up in May and I had dropped plenty of hints on the blog for my husband to buy me a laptop? Well, that never happened … But I couldn’t be too upset about it as I still got a thoughtful gift and the fact that it was pink, showed me a lot of thought had gone into it! 🙂 Then came August and with it, my turn to buy my husband a birthday present … Though I was super tempted to buy him a laptop and just use it myself (I bet that thought had already crossed your mind :D), I kept hearing the iPad needed an upgrade, considered that a hint, and bought the iPad Air 2 instead! A few weeks down the lane and lo and behold, I received a surprise in the mail which certainly had me beaming with joy!

Have you heard of BrydgeAir? It is the cutest little keyboard that can be attached to any iPad Air device and basically converts the tablet into a laptop! So in other words, his birthday gift has suddenly turned into my birthday gift now …happy days! I’m sure there are plenty of reviews on BrydgeAir available so I won’t go into all the technicalities, but here is what I love about it so far ….

  • It looks very sleek (aluminium finish!) and is available in three different colors so you can match your iPad’s existing look …
  • The two hinges attach the keyboard to the iPad quite firmly which means I do not have to worry about the iPad sliding out of place (yikes!) …
  • Typing is a breeze even if you’re working with the keyboard on your lap … This was why I wanted a laptop in the first place, as none of the previous iPad keyboards were easy to work with this way … Not anymore! 🙂
  • It is the perfect size to fold and fit into my handbag to carry around with me … Sounds like my husband has seen the last of his birthday gift now 😀 .. Or if he does, it might be with a pink cover (gotta look into that!) …

The only thing to constantly remind yourself of however, is that even though it may look like a laptop, it isn’t one! It’s funny how the mind sometimes searches for the mouse or trackpad while using it and then has to be reminded it is a touchscreen … So that takes a bit of getting used to 🙂 .. Overall, I am completely in love with the BrydgeAir at the mo as it has given me something more trendy than a laptop … Will add any updates here should I come across any drawbacks in the coming days … But for now, it is time to put my long-awaited idea of sitting in a cafe, sipping on some hot chocolate and looking busy as I type away on a laptop (kinda), into action …. 😀

  1. That looks so chic! 🙂
My life right now is going to coffee shops with my laptop because we don’t have internet connection yet at home, I don’t really fancy it. I like it more when I’m in my pyjamas slouched on the couch with my laptop. Lol.

    1. The only other option I had to the ipad was the iMac which was kept in the study area … so I missed being curled up on the couch blogging away as I watched tv … I still love the cafe setting though as all the inspiration seems to come through the minute I step out of the house …
